Psychologist & Founder Nadine Coco
During my expat childhood, we moved around quite a bit: I was born in Madrid and I’ve lived in Paramaribo and Caracas as a child. I grew up trilangual and learned early on about the world, differences between perspectives and people. My (both Dutch but both with expat backgrounds) parents decided to continue their lives separated and, together with my mom and brother, we moved to The Hague where I finished high school. My father stayed in Venezuela - and many different countries after. After an adventurous year of traveling when I was 18, I obtained two Master degrees at the University of Amsterdam (Psychology & Business), after which I have had a good taste of the corporate environment at Microsoft (see short resumé below). As far as possible in the world of technology - I realized I kept returning to my nature: people and psychology.
Although I often hear people say “I wish I was still young”, it’s not always easy and carefree to be young.
For an interesting childhood abroad, and two loving parents, I am very grateful. However looking back on the times of emigration, saying goodbye, starting new schools and making new friends, my parents’ divorce and then my father living on another continent, I too could have benefitted from some extra guidance every now and then.
A passion for living.
In December 2022, we moved away from the city. A big move while 30 weeks pregnant + toddler running around… highly recommend (said no-one ever!). A leap of faith for both me and my husband: we’ll definitely miss ‘our’ beautiful Amsterdam after 14+ amazing years. After my maternity leave (summer ‘23) I look forward to working with clients in the spacious and green environment of our new home. I will also be renting a beautiful coaching space in Amsterdam for two days a week for our Amsterdam based clients.
We all know how 2020 made it’s own plans. We had to postpone our wedding due to the pandemic and instead focussed on our biggest wish of having a baby. Sadly, this was no walk in the park. An intensive IVF-ICSI journey followed, but with a beautiful outcome! Our dream came true when Abe made us parents for the first time. Less than two years later, his brother Siep followed. Such a special, intense and new adventure. As always in life, the struggle is part of the story! ♡
It’s better to build strong children, than to repair broken adults.
When I’m not working I like to challenge myself with an intensive workout, or you can find me in a yoga studio recharging my battery with a a dose of reflection and relaxation. I like to read and listen to books (I love the app BookBeat for that), and love to linger on Spotify in search of new music. Nowadays however most of my free time is consumed by our boys Abe (April ‘21) and Siep (Feb ‘23). A home filled with handsome men!
We see you. We appreciate you.
I founded The Coconut Club from a strong conviction that self-knowledge, self-compassion, and embracing the own authenticity, provide the foundations for a future in which the client will always find the answers within oneself. I also see how our body and mind operate as one, and the importance of (re)finding balance between the physical, emotional and mental. Together we establish the optimal coaching program for you. Read about our clients’ experiences below.
